Specifications of Fabrix™ Acoustic Fabric Systems and Tracks

Fabrix™ tracks are available in three profiles — square, bevel edge, and round — three heights (1/2-inch, 1-inch, and 2-inch), and two mechanisms (load and snap). Specialty profiles support modular panel fabrication for fabric walls and acoustic fabric panels.

With 47 profiles and counting, Fabrix™ leads as the world’s largest manufacturer of fabric tracks, continuously innovating to meet the evolving needs of fabric architecture.

Anti-Slip

Fabrix™ tracks are designed with a signature Anti-Slip feature that strengthens adhesives applied to fabric acoustic panels. This feature allows adhesives applied to the back of the track to have higher pull-out strength and prevents excess adhesive from seeping out at the sides. This sets our authentic Fabrix™ tracks apart from counterfeit versions.

Anti-Warp

Fabric with high tensile strength can cause tracks to warp during installation, leaving unsightly marks on fabric wrapped acoustic panels and stretch fabric panels. Fabrix™ tracks feature a proprietary Anti-Warp design that prevents warping which protects the surfaces of fabric acoustic panels and ensures high acoustic performance and appearance.

Load & Snap Mechanism

Fabrix™ tracks use two mechanisms to secure fabric. The Load Mechanism holds fabric tightly between serrated teeth to prevent slippage. The Snap Mechanism features a flexible polymer hinge, allowing the jaws to open and close, gripping the fabric securely. Adhesive tape enhances stability, making these tracks ideal for stretch fabric panels and fabric wrapped acoustic panels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fabrix™ uses a special stretch fabric system with acoustically transparent fabric over a sound-absorbing core. This design lets sound waves pass through the fabric and into the core, where the sound is absorbed. The result is effective acoustic treatment without compromising on appearance.

Fabrix™ can be used as wall panels, ceiling fabric panels, or full wall/ceiling installations. The system works for fabric-wrapped walls and ceilings as well as custom stretch-fabric surfaces. This flexibility makes it useful in offices, studios, homes, theatres, and other spaces requiring sound control.

A beveled edge refers to an angled cut that replaces a square edge, giving a smoother, softened finish to wall or panel edges. Using beveled edges in fabric wall panels improves aesthetics by softening hard corners, contributes to a refined look, and helps integrate panels seamlessly into interiors.

Fabrix™ panels often use mineral-wool or Rockwool cores as the absorptive substrate behind the acoustically transparent fabric. Mineral-based cores like Rockwool generally offer strong sound absorption and density, which improves acoustic performance for mid to low frequencies. This makes them more effective than simple foam panels for serious acoustic treatment.

Fabric acoustic panels offer better absorption across a broader frequency range, whereas foam panels perform mostly at high frequencies. Fabric panels provide stronger, longer-lasting sound absorption, better aesthetics, and more design flexibility. These advantages make them ideal for professional spaces such as meeting rooms, studios, auditoriums or any environment where sound quality and visual design matter.
